Found it Dad and the Dynamic Duo found Gone Fishin. (Unknown Cache)

Earlier in the week I had enjoyed the company of the elder half of the new Geocaching team JBJB over an adult beverage. He was expressing a bit of concern that his GPSr was not sensitive enough and mentioned that they would be interested in teaming up again to see if we could help them get a couple more s next to their name.

We decided to meet up for this cache because it was close and I figured we could use couple extra sets of eyes based on the description. We headed down the trail just gabbing about stuff (you all know that chatter I am talking about!) when I hear Dad and the Dynamic Duo? being called out.

How cool was that! Still don't know how but Greenback recognized us and we stopped briefly to formally meet and to learn that he had run into the Cache Hunters. Greenback said that they had found it but to expect a twist...hummmm. Hope we don't show JBJB how not to find a cache.

We continued on to where both teams were at almost zero distance and dropped our bags. The five of us looked around a bit in this area without success. Increased our radius a bit..then a bit more and more. Okay, I'll grab the GPSr again and rewalk it back in. Oh, Its saying over here. JB did the same and got the same result.

Well, as it turns out it was within 3 feet of our first spot. Doesn't that highlight the challenge of Geocaching! George was the first to find it and his glowing smile couldn't keep it hidden from the rest of us. Very clever!

Wonderful hiding spot. Thanks,

George, George and Collin

infoA Mystery Cache is the “catch-all” of cache types, this form of cache can involve complicated puzzles you will first need to solve to determine the coordinates. The only commonality of this cache type is that the coordinates listed are not of the actual cache location but a general reference point, such as a nearby parking location. Due to the increasing creativity of geocaching this becomes the staging ground for new and unique challenges.
